I’m most definitely going through a spiritual journey and so, I’ve been holding back from posting blogs to stay away from looking like a confused duck. ::Laughs:: I thought about it and now I’ve decided to write. Why not? I figure you judging my thoughts or my coming of age is wack anyway, so why should it matter? In the meantime, stay tuned. Return and stay inspired. Remember that teaching the babies is not about giving your two cents, but being a positive example of progress and application. Thanks for the continued support.

There are often times in life when we feel like we’ve been hit with a rebirth. All of a sudden, the things that mattered to us the most, become things of the past, and patterns that you never thought about performing, become things of everyday life. I think Tupac was in a transition – a transition that wasn’t complete. I think he was a dreamer, a believer and a passionate person who dedicated his lifelong thoughts and heart to the betterment of humanity. Right now, I have so many friends who are going through transitions, who need to be reminded that tomorrow isn’t promised. Move and act now. I too, doubt myself and my potential and end up wasting more than enough time. As a reminder, I wanted to tell you and I, that we are a legends in the flesh and God is in us. Maybe, just maybe, Tupac wanted more for you than he wanted for himself. What an amazing spirit. Check out the beautiful Ruby Dee and her perspectives on the legendary artist.

After the constant evaluation of President Obama and the recent interregation of Sonia Sotomayor, is the country really over racism? It seems as the most of us are “over it” in regards to working together and sharing ideas- but are we really “over it” in regards to our real lives and our “outside-of-work” experiences? Have stereotypes been shattered and prejudices murdered? Or are they alive and well? How far along do we have to go? Better yet, how far along have we come? Deep, deep behind the beautiful smile and my edgy style, there’s a mini Al Pacino. I am an absolute reflection of INSOMNIA. Ha. With that being said, I received an e-mail around 1:15 am from Suga-T (E-40′s sister) about a community event for student athletes in the Bay Area. I thought it was such a great reflection of her (along with several other organizations), to award children whom excel (in both sports and in education) with awards, donations and future inner-city sports facilities. She’s simply a reflection of the notion, “Live To Change Something” and she’s continuing to stay an example of community contribution. Congrats Suga on your latest project and your appreciation for humanity. We could all use a “sprinkle” of sugar.

Oakland, California, June 26, 2009– Playing and Dancing Full-Out, in collaboration with God Father Motor Bike Extraordinaire and Be About It Movement are proud to announce the 1^st Annual Bay Area Student Athlete Award Ceremony and Fundraiser, sponsored in part by Raider Nation.

The goal of the Student Athlete Award Ceremony and Fundraiser is to inspire the minds of student athletes and award them for their excellence in the classroom and on the field and stage. We will achieve this goal by educating and awarding student athletes who have shown superior academic achievement and athletic excellence. This will also serve as the first fundraiser for Playing and Dancing Full-Out, raising funds to build state of the art sports and dance training facilities in inner-city communities, starting with its first in Oakland, CA.

Award Ceremony and Fundraiser Date & Time:

1st Annual Bay Area Student Athlete Award Ceremony and Fundraiser will be held Friday, July 24, 2009 (6pm – 9pm), at the Oakland Raiders Headquarters in Alameda, CA.

Cost:

All youth from the age of 5-18 are free. All adults are requested to provide a donation of $50-$85. In exchange for your donation, you will receive an Oakland Raider Football Ticket to the home game of your choice! All tickets include a hat and food voucher good for a hot dog, soda and chips.

A lot of people ask me, “Yo, how’s Milwaukee?” Well, growing up in a city best known for beer and Coo Coo Cal’s “In My Projects,” Milwaukee is a cool place to party (during the summer) and stack bread. Don’t get it twisted. Chicago isn’t the only place in the MW worth visiting. If you ever come to Milwaukee… be ready to dance. Here’s one of the (current) summer records by Milwaukee’s own: Ray Nitti. The song and dance is called “BOW.” I know you think I’m extra deep and banging out to Outkast all day, but this isn’t that.
